India is the world's third-largest producer and consumer of electricity. On a per capita basis, as per CEA, the electricity consumption stood at 1,255KWh in FY2022, which is approximately 1/3rd the global average. There is a concerted effort by the government to transition to clean energy sources to achieve the goal of a non-fossil-based installed capacity of ~500GW by the year FY2030.
